Donald McIntosh
Born and brought up in Elgin, Donald started shooting at the age of 12, but
was finally hooked on the sport at Edinburgh University in the mid 1980s, where
he won the British Universities 3P Championship.
Following many of his fellow EU Alumni club members into International
Shooting, he gained his first Scottish "cap" at the 1989 CSF(ED) Championships,
is currently the forth most capped Scottish smallbore rifle shooter and was
inducted into the Scottish Smallbore Rifle Associations's Hall of Fame in
2007.
Other than a couple of CSF(ED) medals, international success took a little
longer to come than Shirley's, but arrived in the form of 3x40 Pairs Gold at
both the 1999 and 2001 Commonwealth Championships. Donald also represented
Scotland at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, and has represented Great Britain in
the Dewar, Wakefield and Roberts matches, and attended a number of World Cup
matches in 2002 and 2003.
Donald retired from International shooting in 2003, and is now holds an ISSF
'B' coaching license, working with the both Scottish and British International
squads and has attended Commonwealth Championships and Games with Scotland,
World Cups, European & World Championships with Great Britain. He also
coached the British team in the 2005 Pershing Match. He completed a Master's
Degree in Performance Psychology in 2004, and continues to represent Scotland in
Home Countries matches.

Britain at a number of World Cups from 1989 - 1995, the Nordic Championships in
1989, the European Championships in 1995 and the World Championships in 1994,
where she came 5th equal in the Women's Prone.
As a Scottish International she has won a number of medals at CSF(ED) level,
and took silver in the Women's 3x20 Individual at the 1997 Commonwealth
Championships. The highlight of her international career however was the
Commonwealth Games, with Individual Gold in the Women's Prone in 1994, along
with Pairs Silver the same year and two Pairs Bronze medals in 1998. She carried
the flag for Scotland at the Closing Ceremony of the 1994 Games, remains only
one of two Scottish women to have won four Commonwealth Games medals, and was
awarded an MBE for services to sport in 1995, and was inducted into the Scottish
Smallbore Rifle Associations's Hall of Fame
in 2007..
Shirley retired from International shooting in 1998, but continues to compete
