Unfortunately the best fillers also tend to be the heaviest, increasingly an issue for international competitors as airlines become less flexible with excess baggage allowances. We recommend plastic granules, available as surplus from the injection moulding industry, or grass seed - both of which allow the shape of the kneeling roll to be optimised while avoiding any compression as the match proceeds.

International competitors using organic fillers should be careful to avoid falling foul of customs when travelling abroad - taking seeds into many foreign countries is prohibited.
