This is designed to protect the trigger mechanism of a Grünig & Elmiger R3 Racer barrelled action when separated from a stock. It slides onto the rear of the action, encasing the trigger mechanism and trigger blade, and locks in place securely with a latch at the front.

Removal is equally simple - just open the latch at the front, and squeeze the mechanism at both sides and this will allow it to slide back off of the action.
